Age Categories
determined by birth year, with the exception of 14 years old which will be based on birth date

Weight Categories
Weigh-in is 2 hours before the first lift of your session and you must weigh the same or under the weight category you are in, but not below the lighter weight class. For example, if you are in the U63kg category, you must weigh in between 57.01 to 63.0 kg

As Powerlifting Singapore is affiliated with the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), we follow the same rules for competition attire and equipment.
You will need minimally an IPF approved singlet. All other equipment like belt, wrist wraps and knee sleeves are optional but they must be IPF approved.

We have qualified coaches that are conducting workshops leading up to the competition.

In short, you will perform the maximum amount of weight for 1 repetition of each of the following lifts: Squat, Bench and Deadlift, according to competition standards. You will have 3 attempts for each lift. Click here for a very good video guide to the sport.

Anyone who is new to powerlifting and has bever competed before is considered a Novice. We will require you to make a declaration during registration that you have never competed before and your registration may be forfeited if found otherwise.
Powerlifting Singapore is an International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) affiliate, so that means we are a drug-tested federation, and we abide by the strict code of conduct for anti-doping.
We do regular doping control test of our athletes, and these tests are costly. As we are a non-profit organization, all the membership fees collected are used to support our efforts to abide by the rules.

There is a chance that you may be tested. However, there’s nothing to worry about if you have been practicing integrity while training to become stronger.

Absolutely! Spectators are welcomed and admission is free! You will also get a chance to try doing the Squat and Deadlift at our tryout zone.
